Solo Parent Support

Whether you’re a single parent by choice, or one that didn’t expect it at all, nothing prepares you for being marginalised by society for it - the stereotyping, the judgements, the economic disadvantages. We get labelled as uneducated and irresponsible, and told that our children are will turn into delinquents. Having been a single parent myself for over 15 years, I feel strongly about shifting this mindset, not to let other people change who we really are, and especially not to let them affect our children. We have enough to do without all that. Solo parents are the ones with ALL the responsibility, playing all the parts. It is very important to remember that the nuclear family is NOT an adequate blueprint. A child needs a village, or a whole world. Other perspectives and caring adults to spend time with. I truly believe that being with one calm and resourced parent is better than being with two parents who have a toxic dynamic, and unfortunately in our broken societies there are many of those. Sometimes things just sound better on paper. The nuclear family is not our nature - more on that here. The part about being resourced makes all the difference, and that’s what I can support you with.

There are two ways you can work with me…

  • In my online support group - these are kept to a maximum of 10 people so that everyone can fully take part, and they run in 4 week blocks to give people chance to get to know each other. If you would like to register interest, please click here.

  • In one-to-one mentoring sessions: Giving you space to be heard, and receive gentle questioning and validation where necessary, and I will offer holistic practices that meet you where you are, whether you’re new to self-enquiry or many years on the path. It is a session to focus on you, and I will always give you ‘self-care’ homework (which won’t be to have a bath! though they are nice too, of course).

  • I offer a 50% discount to people who are marginalised and struggling financially because I dream for support to be available for anyone who needs it. On the flip side, if you are able to support this initiative so that I can offer more discounted places, you can donate financial support here, or become a paid reader of my Substack publication The Otherwise Grounded Life.
